The world is eagerly waiting for a vaccine to save humanity from a novel coronavirus. But another event might have equal importance in our lives. That is the Presidential Election of the United States.

However, there were years of dirtyonslaught between the two American parties in social media well before the present election events. The conservative rights who are currently running the show, promoting the idea that social media are somehow biased against them.

So, the question remains at the table who are forcing the giant social media companies to show biases against the ruling party. The theory of social media prejudice has been there since 2016 and liberal lefts are to be blamed for this, according to the conservatives.

We went through numerous reports, researches, studies, and articles to find out the truth behind the social media tug war between the two parties. So let’s dive into this.

Whatis the Conservative Blame

One conservative follower claimed that the right-wing YouTube channels go through censorship despite having large followers. This is serious blame for a democratic nation like the U.S.

But the President of the United States Donald Trump has been the most vocal person against social media.His most agonizing relationship is with the social giant Twitter. President himself complaint, “Why don’t I have more followers?”

Surprisingly, former President Barack Obama has more followers on Twitter than Donald Trump. Since Obama belongs to the liberal family the current President has his concerns about theTwitters actions.

Trump thinks it is a part of shutting down the conservative rights from the social media world. As social media has most eyes in the modern days it can be a big blow for any political party to be casted out from it. Hence, conservative leaders are worried about recent events.

In the latest turn of events, White House declared that they are drafting orders to address the problem where social media is playing an anti-conservative role.

Two Fronts in One Social Media Battle

So clearly, there are two fronts in the social media battle. The liberal lefts are dominating the social platforms to cut down the rights. In a year-long study on American politics, researchers found theeffects of polarization. The research claimed that social media as a source of political news generally spread biased information with ideological bubbles.

However, the immediate question came to our mind- who is spreading such biasness?

Fortunately, the study found that “liberals are more likely than those in other ideological groups to block or defriend someone on a social network – as well as to end a personal friendship – because of politics.”

So, liberals are ready to do anything to fulfill their political goals. They might endeavor biased ways to take away the power.

We went through another study and the resultsfascinated us. According to the study, 62% of American adults consume news from social media. And Facebook is the dominant platform for the cause. Inmost cases, readers believe the fake news circulated by those who have some political agenda.

According to the study conducted by Oxford, conservative rights are most exposed to social media fake news. One White House official even claimed, “If the internet is going to be presented as this egalitarian platform and most of Twitter is liberal cesspools of venom.”

“So, there is a clear indication that social media has been a battleground for the two ideological parties in the Country. One is exposed more to the political objectives of another where the social media’s role is more unfair towards the right,” claims Denny Darmodihardjo

The Slogan “Shut It Down” by the Liberals

Protesters were found chanting “shut it down” slogan during a Trump rally last summer. Liberals are trying to shut down the conservatives at any cost. Some accused that liberals are using hateful and misleading content to get a grip on the power.

The Democratic Party is calling the conservative social media presence a ‘fascist-friendly online community.’ In retaliation, conservative rights started using a free-speech social media app which will ban the liberal users.

However, there are concerns that the liberals cannot do these things alone to shut down Republican presence in the social media. People are calling it the “far-right violence” where conservatives are systemically targeted and attacked via media.

So, a possible partnership between Silicon Valley and the pro-Democrats can be the answer for everything.

Whether conservative rights part themselves from the existing social media culture or stay in the group,unfortunately, they have been targeted extensively in the process. Shutting down any party from the freedom of knowledge can be a dangerous attempt for a supernation like the United States.
